Before the meeting, Ian sent this email message:
"One note of interest is the Olympia Parks, Arts, and Rec plan. The cutoff for community input is tonight. I am sorry to not have been more on top of this, but I didn't imagine they'd only have 10 days during a holiday for input.

Also, when they were working on their plan, they consulted several groups. I hope that we might get that kind of recognition some day. Anyhow, here's the site for a group that did.

Click the links for "Board" and "Bylaws" to see how organized these folks are. We had some discussion about wanting to be more organized, and well, this is what it might look like. This could be part of why they get the attention of the city, but it's perhaps it's their size and age.
Also, we may want to contact them and work together or fields issues someday."
Corey started the discussion saying he didn't want us to get rigidly organized, but thought it would be good to have the board be more representational of the local ultimate community.
Andy said we should be realistic about what we can do, and realize that when it comes to getting things done, it has always been and will probably always be just us.
We discussed how to expand "us" realistically, and decided to move forward with the plan of identifying and describing our committees, and then presenting that info to the community.
Ian has been slacking on this, but want to continue to keep the thread alive, so that if we ever lose our TESC fields, we arent' starting from scratch. I will keep a better lookout for opportunities like the Oly Parks and Rec plan (see above).
Jon suggested that we should ask for other fields, even if we expect to be denied, and keep a record of what we wanted but couldn't get.
The board passed a resolution stating that pickup rocks.
The board passed a resolution stating that our leagues rock, and that each league will operate as a separate committee, with cross-league issue being taken up by the board.
We discussed trying to get Tim Morrissey to chair this position. Currently, it is a recognized vacant position.
The team committee didn't do much last year, simply approving the previous year's plan. Will that work again?
Todd will chair the new outreach committee, which will include PR.
So all that said, and we didn't really decide what to do about the board, so Andrew proposed that we have a committee do it. Pam and Jen volunteered. Ian will collect and send out committee descriptions.
We might do St. Martins for $15 for 6 weeks in Feb-March, but it's not confirmed.
Monday, January 26th, at Ian's house at 7 p.m.
