SSUP Board Meeting Minutes

7/23/07

League (Troy):

We discussed the following items related to Fall League:

1. Location: South Sound Stadium or Bucknell Park in Lacey. Bucknell is cheaper but you have to pay for parking, so for some of us, it would be a small difference. Andrew scouted Bucknell, and it included some older fake turf, some outfield and some infield, and generally sounded not so great, and potentially dangerous. The stadium would allow for skinnier but better fields.
2. Dates: Mid-September, six or eight weeks.
3. Disc NW involvement: Yes.
4. How to make it competitive: We didn't discuss this much. We don't have a solid plan for it.
5. Trophy: We decided it would be a good idea to have a trophy of some sort. Something fun and inexpensive.
6. General: We also talked about spirit scores and getting high school kids to join the league. Preferably 2 per team. No solid plan.
7. Potential Conflicts: We considered Sectionals and Hanford. The team will investigate the possibility of Sectionals.

Public Relations (Ian):

Ian stepped down at committee chair. Kathy was nominated and she accepted.

Pickup (Kathy):

Kathy is organizing another women's pickup. We talked about doing this more often, but decided first Thursdays of the month for now is sufficient.

Next Meeting

Meeting will be Tuesday, September 11th at Ian's house, at 7 p.m.

Andrew is working on some kind of winter retreat.
