South Sound Ultimate Players

South Sound Ultimate Players:
Leagues

We have leagues in the spring, fall, and winter. Spring is our largest league, designed to introduce beginners to the game. Fall is our most competitive league, intended for players with previous experience. Winter league is played indoors in a gym. All of our leagues are played with a high degree of spirit of the game and respect for opponents and teammates.

Spring League

Spring League

Everyone is welcome! We' play Sundays in the afternoon at LBA Park in Olympia from mid-April to early June. Have fun, enjoy team camaraderie and spirit, and each player gets a free disc, designed by a player, chosen by the players at the annual disc design contest.

Fall League

Fall League

This co-ed competitive league is designed for players with a general knowledge of the sport. Players should have experience throwing, marking, and basic offensive and defensive strategies. We play Mondays at 6:30 at the lighted, artificial turf field at the Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) in Lacey.

Winter League

Winter League

Ultimate Frisbee is a great summer sport, and now you can enjoy it indoors in the winter! No rain, no mud, and plenty of light! This coed league is open to everyone. If you haven't played indoor ultimate before, it's a fun game very similar to outdoor ultimate. Play never stops, the wind is never a factor, and your socks stay dry. January and February.

Andy & Troy started the first Olympia ultimate frisbee league in 2003 with just 40 people. For those who were not around then, during this time there was no guarantee that we would have enough for 7s at pick-up, and on some days there was a telephone tree (pre-texting days) to encourage people to come out. At that time, we only played March through October and we only went to tournaments occasionally, if we could find enough women to attend. In just eight short years we now have a 90-person spring league, a fall league under the lights, an in-door winter league, a traveling team that attends at least six tournaments a year, and ladies pick-up. All these things are directly as a result of that first league Andy & Troy started. Thanks guys!
