Here's a great article by a parent in the Bay Area about her experience watching her daughter play ultimate. If you're the parent of a child interested in playing, it's a good read. What Ultimate Does for Daughters
Middle School Ultimate
The Briggs YMCA Middle School Late Night Program is introducing indoor ultimate frisbee for beginners. Experience in ultimate frisbee is not necessary and fitness level is not important to participate in this fun class about one of America's fastest-growing sports.
See the event flyer for more information.
A few of the players in the women’s indoor league asked what can be done to continue playing after the present league ends next week. I just got off the telephone with Olympia Parks and Recreation, and I was able to secure the Olympia Center’s gym for an open gym pick-up that is open to any woman interested in playing or learning how to play ultimate Frisbee.
The open gyms will take place on Saturday, November 16 and Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m.-noon on both days. The cost will be $3 per person. This would also be a great time to invite friends (Bridget your soccer teammates) and daughters (Rebecca and Pam) who are new to the game. Let’s try to make a big push to recruit new players in preparation for the winter league that will be occurring in January and February.
Pickup on Sundays, 2 p.m.
Check our Facebook page for current pickup news.
We are currently playing and Sundays at 2 p.m. at The Evergreen State College (near the tennis courts). We play rain or shine, so come out and play. Sometimes we're a few minutes late, but we will be there.
Whether you are coming from the north (Seattle, SeaTac Airport) or south (Portland): Take I-5 to Exit 104, and follow Highway 101 to the third exit (The Evergreen State College). Travel two miles on the Evergreen Parkway to the main campus entrance on your left. We play on the big open fields between the dorms and the tennis courts. Park on the right side, head in towards the school, and to the right, behind the CRC and the Utilities building.
