8th Annual South Sound Ultimate Players (SSUP) Indoor Winter Ultimate League

Winter League

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Indoor Ultimate Frisbee League. Now with a new location slightly closer to town. But it's still a gym so it doesn't matter that it is rainy and dark outside.

  • When: Tuesdays, January 5 - March 1 (nine games!) Game time varies by week. Early games are 6:30-7:30, and late games are 7:30-8:30.
  • Cost: $25
  • Where: Komachin Middle School, 3650 College St. SE in Lacey   Near the intersection of College St and Mullen Rd (about 4.5 hucks southeast of Andrew's house)
  • How: Sign up now by calling Lacey Parks and Recreation at 360-491-0857 during business hours.

You can also sign up online at, although you'll need to contact Lacey P & R by phone first to get a username and password if haven't already.

For folks who have never played this league, Winter Indoor is played on a basketball court inside a gym (no rain, no wind, no cold). It is co-ed and 4-on-4. While we have other leagues targeted at beginners, indoor is a great way for your new-to-ultimate friends to learn the game because everyone is involved. It's also a great way to learn handler cuts! It isn't as hard on your knees as you might think (movement is more like basketball than outdoor ultimate).

Sign up as an individual and we will place you on a team (hat league). If you want to play on the same team as a household member, let Andrew know before the league starts (the sooner the better). Also, if you want to play on a team that plays mostly late games, or the team that plays mostly early games, let Andrew know. (Sometimes Parks and Rec will gather this information, but the best way is to e-mail Andrew K. at least 2 weeks before the league starts).

Pickup is on Sundays

Check our Facebook group for the most current pickup news, as times/locations are subject to occasional changes.

We generally play on Sundays at 2:00 p..m. at The Evergreen State College (near the tennis courts). Check Facebook or our email list group for details. We play rain or shine, so come out and play. Sometimes we're a few minutes late, but we will be there.

To get to Evergreen: Whether you are coming from the north (Seattle, SeaTac Airport) or south (Portland): Take I-5 to Exit 104, and follow Highway 101 to the third exit (The Evergreen State College). Travel two miles on the Evergreen Parkway to the main campus entrance on your left. We play on the big open fields between the dorms and the tennis courts. Park on the right side, head in towards the school, and to the right, behind the CRC and the Utilities building.
